Can I Touch Your Hair?

Hand stitched 8 inch embroidery featuring custom designed fabric for The Hidden Pin Up. This embroidery is backed in black felt and glued into a flexi wood grain embroidery hoop.

The Hidden Pin Up is a collaborative project between myself and Manchester vogue house the House of Ghetto that tackles issues of racial/sexual stereotypes, particularly that of women of colour. It takes inspiration from the little known history of the black pin up and the legacy of fetishisation that women of colour still face.
